The Position of Job as Parish Secretary at Immaculate Conception Parish
Immaculate Conception Parish is seeking to hire someone with experience in secretarial positions. The work involves 25-30 hours a week at the Parish office. The Secretary reports to the Pastor.
The overall function is to assist the Pastor in his administration of the Parish and to provide any necessary secretarial support. As such, the Secretary serves as the primary contact person for phone calls, e-mails, and walk-ins to the parish; a liaison to the team of volunteers, the parish staff, and the school for matters related to the school and the Parish. Also diligently maintains the parish archive, updates all files, and assists the pastor in communicating with the parish families. The person must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below represent the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required. - High level of integrity, diplomacy, and initiative
- Ability to organize, prioritize, manage multiple priorities, and work with minimal supervision
- Ability to lift and carry twenty-pound parcels and/or boxes
- Ability to go up and down stairs
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Professional confidentiality and discretion regarding all financial and personal information
- Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing, spreadsheets, filing and record-keeping, designing forms, and other office procedures and terminology
- Competent computer skills are strongly desired, along with interest and capacity to learn the software system followed by the diocese. Training will be provided.
