We Believe: Growing in the Catholic Christian Faith (OCIA)
We Believe: Growing in the Catholic Christian Faith is Immaculate Conception’s OCIA process (Order of Christian Initiation of Adults), the Church’s way of welcoming adults into the Catholic Church and instructing them in the basic doctrines of the Catholic Christian Faith. This includes:
- Married couples in which one spouse is a Catholic and the other belongs to a Christian denomination other than Catholic
- Engaged couples who wish to marry in the Catholic Church but one of the couples is not a Catholic
- Catholics who may have missed one or more of the Sacraments of Initiation (Baptism, Confession, Communion, Confirmation)
- As well as Catholics who would like a “refresher course” in the Catholic faith
We meet in Father Klink Hall once a week during the school year. The OCIA process will prepare you for the Rites of Baptism (if you were never baptized in any Christian church); Confession; Holy Eucharist; and Confirmation (which is celebrated at the Easter Vigil Mass).
If you are interested in being a part of the OCIA process at Immaculate Conception, or in sponsoring someone, contact Deacon Greg Power.
