OCIA

We Believe: Growing in the Catholic Christian Faith (OCIA)

We Believe: Growing in the Catholic Christian Faith is Immaculate Conception’s OCIA (Order of Christian Initiation of Adults) process, the Church’s way of welcoming adults into the Catholic Church and instructing them in the basic doctrines of the Catholic Faith. Participants include:

  • Married couples in which one spouse is Catholic and the other belongs to a Christian denomination other than Catholic
  • Engaged couples who plan to marry in the Catholic Church, but one of the couple is not Catholic
  • Catholics who may have missed one or more of the Sacraments of Initiation (Baptism, Reconciliation, Communion, Confirmation)
  • Catholics who would like a “refresher course” in the Catholic faith

OCIA meets in Father Klink Hall once per week during the school year. The OCIA process will prepare you for the Rites of Baptism (if you were never baptized in any Christian church), Reconciliation, Holy Eucharist, and Confirmation.

If you are interested in being a part of the OCIA process at Immaculate Conception, or in sponsoring someone, contact Deacon Greg Power.
