Confirmation

Immaculate Conception's preparation for Confirmation is a two year process, usually begun in the freshman year of high school, although high school juniors and seniors with a commitment to prepare for the sacrament may also enter the program.  Regis Catholic School and public school students, whose families are members of the parish, participate in the program together.  Candidates meet is small groups, lead by adult facilitators (catechists) for eight sessions of two hours each, during the school year.  Meeting times for each group will vary, with Wednesday nights, Sundays before or after Mass, and Sunday evenings being possible options.  Locations may be at the parish or in candidates homes.  The first year curriculum is an overview of Sacred Scripture, the Sacrament of Confirmation and the Beatitudes.  The second year covers the Gifts of the Holy Spirit and has the addition of three sessions with a candidate's sponsor, on Sunday mornings (dates TBA).  Other requirements are a minimum fifteen hours of 'Living Your Faith' service hours and a retreat each year of preparation. Click below for specific 'Living Your Faith' service hour details.  In order for this program to work, small group facilitators are needed -contact Linda Corey about becoming a small group facilitator.
