High School- Confirmation/Youth Events
Immaculate Conception's preparation for Confirmation is a two year process, usually begun in the freshman year of high school, although high school juniors and seniors with a commitment to prepare for the sacrament may also enter the program. Regis Catholic School and public school students, whose families are members of the parish, participate in the program together. Candidates meet in small groups, lead by adult facilitators (catechists). Year one of preparation (normally 9th graders) requires seven sessions. These sessions are normally on Sunday evening, after a monthly Sunday night Mass. Year two of preparation (normally 10th graders) requires thirteen sessions. Meeting times for each group will vary, with Wednesday nights, Sundays before or after Mass, and Sunday evenings being possible options. Locations may be at the parish or in candidates homes. Each small group session builds on the journey toward Confirmation, with the second year having the addition of two sessions with a candidate's sponsor (dates TBA). Other requirements are a minimum ten hours of 'Living Your Faith' service hours each year of preparation. Click below for specific 'Living Your Faith' service hour details. In order for this program to work, small group facilitators are needed - contact the Faith Formation/PREP Office about becoming a small group facilitator.
