Confirmation
Immaculate Conception's preparation for Confirmation is a two year process, usually beginning in the 9th grade. High school juniors and seniors with a commitment to prepare for the sacrament may also enter the program. Candidates meet in small groups, lead by adult facilitators (catechists).
Year 1
Year one of preparation, typically the 9th grade, requires seven sessions. These sessions are normally on Sunday evening, after a monthly Sunday night Mass. Each small group session builds on the journey toward Confirmation. Other requirements are a minimum 15 hours of 'Living Your Faith' service hours each year of preparation.
Year 2
Year two of preparation, typically 10th graders, requires thirteen sessions. Meeting times for each group will vary; Wednesday nights, Sundays before or after Mass, and Sunday evenings are possible options. Locations may be at the parish or in candidates homes.
